Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Mission Khaki (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a free, ad-supported Android application for exam preparation. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and how you can ask us to delete it. Please read it carefully before using the app.

1. Who we are

Mission Khaki is an independent, privately developed application. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Indian Army, the Ministry of Defence, any Police force, the Staff Selection Commission, UPSC, or any CAPF in any way. We operate the app and are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect and why

The app is designed to collect the minimum data needed to run your account, save your progress and show ads on the free tier.

Data Why we use it Where it is stored
Account identity Your display name, email address or phone number, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google account ID and profile photo, as provided by Firebase Authentication Firebase Authentication (Google infrastructure)
Progress & scores Mock test attempts, section-wise scores, time taken, best scores, language preference, and premium status — so your progress syncs across devices Firebase Firestore (Google infrastructure)
Purchase record A purchase-verification record (product ID and transaction reference from Google Play) so your one-time premium unlock works on any device signed in to the same Google account Firebase Firestore
Advertising data Advertising ID (where available), app install and usage signals, and crash/diagnostic logs — used by Google to serve and measure ads on the free tier Processed on-device and on Google’s servers by the AdMob SDK
  • Sign-in options: You can sign in with your Google account, with an email and password, or with a phone number (via Firebase Authentication). We only receive what the chosen method returns to us — for example, Google Sign-In typically returns your name, email address and profile photo.
  • We never store: card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials, passwords in plain text, or biometric data.

3. Payments (Google Play Billing)

The one-time premium purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing on Google’s servers.

  • We never see or store your payment details. Card, UPI and net-banking information is handled exclusively by Google.
  • What we receive is only a confirmation that the purchase succeeded (a product identifier and a transaction reference), which we store in Firestore to unlock Grand Mocks and notes on your account.
  • Refunds are governed by Google Play’s refund policy. Contact Google Play Support directly for any refund request.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free tier is supported by advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use device-level information — such as your advertising ID (where you have not reset it), app identifiers and usage signals — to select, serve and measure ads.

  • Ad content and behaviour are governed by Google’s own policies and privacy notice.
  • You can reduce personalised advertising by resetting your advertising ID or limiting ad personalisation in your Android / Google Ads settings (see Your choices).
  • We do not sell your personal data. Advertising data flows between the app and Google’s systems, not to us as a marketing list.

5. How we use data

  • Run your account and synchronise your mock test progress.
  • Score and rank your attempts, and show you section-wise breakdowns.
  • Verify and keep your one-time premium unlock working.
  • Measure aggregate app performance (crashes, usage) so we can fix problems.
  • Support the free tier with advertising, as described above.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your scores for any purpose other than the app itself.

6. Data retention and deletion

  • We keep your account data for as long as your account exists.
  • To delete your account: in Mission Khaki 2.5.0 or later, open Home → Account settings → Delete account and confirm your identity. Free and paid accounts use the same deletion path. If you cannot access the app, email contact.rupjyoti26@gmail.com with your sign-in email address or legacy phone number. After verifying ownership, we process external requests typically within 30 days and confirm completion. See Delete your Mission Khaki account.
  • Deletion removes your Firebase Authentication identity, application-owned cloud profile and associated records, leaderboard entries and Premium grant. In-app deletion clears UID-scoped session and entitlement state. Shared device-only study progress, bookmarks and goals are not attributed to an account and remain until you clear app storage or uninstall.
  • We retain only one-way purchase-token fingerprints with a retired flag for fraud/replay prevention. These purchase blocklist records contain no account UID, name, email, phone number, raw purchase token or card data. A separate minimal deletion-status record keyed by the former Firebase UID records completion time, or a failed cleanup stage, to block stale sessions and permit safe retries. It contains no name, email or phone number.
  • Deleting a paid account ends its linked Premium access; a retired purchase cannot automatically be restored to a new account. Google Play’s transaction records are controlled by Google, and deletion does not issue a refund. Minimal security records remain for transaction integrity and replay prevention.
  • Google may retain copies of deleted data in its backup systems for a limited period; this is outside our direct control but is governed by Google’s retention policy.
  • Crash logs are kept only as long as needed to diagnose and fix technical problems.

7. Children’s privacy (13 and older)

  • The app is intended for users aged 13 and above and is not directed at children under 13.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
  • If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete the account and associated data.

8. Your choices

  • Choose a lighter sign-in: using email (instead of Google) means we do not receive a Google profile photo or Google account ID.
  • Limit ad personalisation: on Android, you can reset your advertising ID or enable “Limit ad personalisation” in your device’s Google ads settings. You can also opt out of personalised ads at Google’s ads settings page.
  • Go premium: the one-time purchase unlocks Grand Mocks and notes; it does not change which data we collect.
  • Delete everything: request full deletion as described in section 6, or simply uninstall the app (uninstalling removes app data from the device but not your cloud account).

9. Third-party services

We use services operated by Google LLC to run the app:

  • Firebase Authentication — account sign-in (Google, email, phone).
  • Firebase Firestore — cloud storage of your progress and scores.
  • Google Play Billing — one-time premium purchase processing.
  • Google AdMob — advertising on the free tier.

These providers process data under their own privacy terms. You can read Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures — including Google’s secure infrastructure, encrypted data in transit, and access restrictions on our backend — to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data using commercially acceptable means.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where practical, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
